Huntsville is committed to attracting and retaining young professionals. Many groups specialize in providing social and professional networks for twenty- and thirty-somethings, and YPs are a hot commodity on community boards, in civic groups and on management teams. Here are some of the local organizations that address the interests of young professionals.

First Friday's Huntsville

The goal of First Friday's is to provide unique forums for cultural/intellectual enrichment, social entertainment and networking for young urban professionals. Our monthly events vary from hotel ballrooms, outdoor events, professional speaker series, After 5 Networking and hot night spots throughout the city. Huntsville Young Professionals

Huntsville Young Professionals is the region's only organization catering exclusively to the active lifestyle of today's young professional. By providing social, professional and networking opportunities for young professionals, HYP is creating a more vibrant and connected community.

Art Krewe

Art Krewe is an optional membership program open to all Huntsville Museum of Art members, over the age of 21. Established in 1992, the Art Krewe is an active group comprised of young professionals, generally under the age of 45. The Art Krewe sponsors and coordinates art-centered social events and parties for its members and the community at large. To be a member of the Art Krewe, you must also be a member of the Huntsville Museum of Art. If you are interested in getting involved in the Huntsville Museum of Art and meeting young professionals with an interest in art and community, consider adding this membership to your Museum membership. First Circle

Are you a Young Professional who wants to experience your Symphony? Join First Circle, a group of patrons like you who are interested in social involvement with opportunities to connect with the music and the musicians. First Circle hosts pre-concert events for select concerts throughout the Symphony season, allowing members to interact and engage with guest artists, conductors, and HSO musicians. For $30, First Circle members receive a ticket to the concert and are invited to attend a pre-concert social and enrichment activity.

Huntsville Urban Network

The HuntsvilleUrbanNetwork.com (HUN) is Huntsville's online resource for urban events and marketing. Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment

Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment is located in historic Lowe Mill, an old textile mill built in the year 1900. Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment supports a diverse community of artisans and businesses that are dedicated to the free expression of the arts in Huntsville. The vision for Lowe Mill is of a true arts destination, where a community of artisans can practice their trade while improving their skills through interactions with other artists, all the while educating the public about art and its value. Lowe Mill is home to a variety of different groups and artists, including The Flying Monkey Arts Center, Everett Cox’s new foundry, Susan Knecht’s glass blowing studio, Happy Tummy Restaurant and 34 new artists located on the recently opened 3rd floor.

Connect Huntsville/Madison County is a program of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County, started in 2005 in response to our community's desire to better engage young professionals in our area. Connect develops a group of young professionals to support current community activities to attract and retain young professionals. Additionally, Connect creates a pool of graduates who desire to serve our community through non-profit boards and commissions and political involvement.

Alabama A&M University

Alabama A & M University is a dynamic and progressive institution with a strong commitment to academic excellence. The picturesque campus is situated on what many alumni and friends fondly refer to as "The Hill," only a few miles from downtown Huntsville.

Junior League

Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Young women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism are welcome to join.

Rotaract

The Rotaract Club of Huntsville is Huntsville's newest organization for young professionals. Our Club seeks to be the premiere service organization for young professionals in this community. We invite you to look around and find out more about our Club and what we do, what we stand for and where we are going.

Merrimack Hall

Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center includes a 300-seat, state-of-the-art performance hall, a 3,000 square foot dance studio, and rehearsal and instructional spaces for musicians. Planned activities include a daily schedule of open classes in music, theatre and dance; workshops and master classes in all of the performing arts conducted by guest artists; summer performing arts camps; and regularly scheduled performances and productions.

Botanical Garden

Huntsville Botanical Garden, a valuable community resource for education, recreation and entertainment, is open to the public year-round and is enjoyed by more than 350,000 visitors annually. As a non-profit institution, we depend on the support of our community, visitors, volunteers and especially our members.
