Huntsville is committed to attracting and retaining young professionals. Many groups specialize in providing social and professional networks for twenty- and thirty-somethings, and YPs are a hot commodity on community boards, in civic groups and on management teams. Here are some of the loccal organizations that address the interests of young professionals.

ART KREWE Art Krewe is a membership program open to all Huntsville Museum of Art members over the age of 21 and generally under 45. Art Krewe sponsors and coordinates art-centered social events and parties for its members and the community at large. These events include exhibit preview parties, holiday events, movies in the park and the annual BBQ & Bluegrass.

Bridges prepares co-ops, interns and recent college graduates to bridge the gap between school and career. A program of the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County, Bridges uses workshops, panel discussions and hands-on activities to show why Huntsville/Madison County is a smart place for young professionals to live, work and play.

The Committee of 100 Young Professionals trains and mentors future political leaders of Huntsville-Madison County, bridging the gap between present and future leaders, and focusing collective efforts of young professionals on issues of local importance. Committee of 100 YP hosts monthly program and events planned in conjunction with the Committee of 100.

Connect Huntsville/Madison County, a program of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County, was started in 2005 to better engage young professionals in the community. Connect develops a group of young professionals to support current community activities to attract and retain young professionals. Additionally, Connect creates a pool of graduates who desire to serve through non-profit boards and commissions and political involvement.

First Fridays provides unique forums for cultural/intellectual enrichment, social entertainment and networking for young urban professionals. Monthly events include professional speaker series, After 5 Networking, and social get-togethers at hot night spots throughout the city.

The Huntsville Urban Network is Huntsville's online resource for urban events and marketing. The HUN connects you to the latest upscale events, concerts, community activities, church calendars and regional events within the African-American community. Register for the free weekly email blast, free events calendar listings, small business directory opportunities, and culture page for artists and authors. The HUN is a one-stop urban events web portal.

Huntsville Young Professionals is the region's only organization catering exclusively to the active lifestyle of today's young professional. By providing social, professional and networking opportunities for young professionals, HYP is creating a more vibrant and connected community.

Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Young women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism are welcome to join.

The Rotaract Club of Huntsville is Huntsville's newest organization for young professionals. The Club seeks to be the premiere service organization for young professionals in this community.
